The two speakers are also fairly well balanced, so you don’t get any wobbliness in volume output or frequency response. Quality is good at 1080p as well as 4K. Footage shot in the daytime isn’t too shaky despite the lack of OIS, but there’s severe juddering if you record video while walking at night. While the rear-facing camera setup isn’t that impressive, the Oneplus 9R features the same front-facing shooter like the other two models. It features an advanced 108MP main camera with 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP tele-macro camera. It is joined by the 16MP ultrawide camera (123º lens, IMX481 sensor), the 5MP macro, and 2MP monochrome cameras. The camera is also lifted off the 8T, starting with the main module with a 48MP sensor (IMX586, 1/2″, 0.8µm) and Optical Image Stabilization.
Do you need a 108MP Camera sensor to shoot every picture? The display has a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 240 Hz touch sampling rate. The phone can record 4K video at 60 fps and capture slow-motion clips (240 fps at 1080p, 480 fps at 720p). It also features Video Portrait mode and EIS on top of OIS for extra smooth footage. As for gaming, it’s fine if all you’re interested in is playing at 60Hz. As usual, OnePlus limits the refresh rate of most games on the Play Store to 60Hz. The only ones that can exceed that limit are a handful of allowed titles, such as PUBG Mobile, Fortnite, and Pokemon Go. They produce a clean, clear sound and can get surprisingly loud.
In this range, you will get few successful smartphones in each section. Hence, you will be able to switch easily between multiple apps and easily store your files of songs, videos, games, and more without any space constraints. The Snapdragon 870 GPU is easily more powerful than those of mid-range chipset. Since both the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro pack Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC, they feature an integrated Snapdragon X60 modem. The design, which we covered before in our first cut, follows the template of the OnePlus nine series, which is good, although some might find it is a little too similar to the OnePlus 8T. We think it is a good-looking phone, though. The OnePlus family expanded last year with the introduction of the Nord series; now, it expands again with a phone that sits between the Nord mid-rangers and the main flagship series.
